Moving to Los Angeles two months shy of my 20th birthday was thrilling and intimidating, especially since I didn’t know anybody in the city. I come from a little town in Missouri, which had a population of 995 people. I came hoping to find an agency that would believe in me. Despite facing rejection from every major agency, I remained determined because I knew my yes. As I enter my twentieth year in Los Angeles and my twenty-fifth year in the entertainment industry, I reflect on the incredible journey that has shaped my life.

In 2006, my son was born, I could have followed in the footsteps of many of my friends with international contracts traveling worldwide, but my desire was different. I wanted to be present in my son’s life, so I made Los Angeles my home. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest brands and to collaborate with the most talented people in this industry. Yet, the most incredible thing I think I have accomplished has been co-creating a wonderful son. He is an incredible musician and artist. Watching him grow into a remarkable human has been the coolest thing I have ever done. It’s always surreal when we get to be on photoshoots together.
